I’m posting this because I don’t have much else to post, but anyway…

Writing islands was hard for a number of reasons, but I was really annoyed by how badly I wanted Hu and Pascal to get together before they actually did. The first time I wrote chapter 4, “indigo,” I ended it in a completely different way. It’s not poorly written, so I thought I’d share it.

To get a feel on how this was meant to go, read ch4 until you get to the very end, right after Hubert says “anything and everything.” Then proceed.

Hi guys, sorry for the sudden silence here. If you follow me on my other tumblr or any other network, you may already know that I’ve been struggling with depression, suicidal thoughts/urges, and sudden turmoil with one of my close friends. The last 1-2 months have been very, very rough, and to be honest I’ve lost a lot of my desire to write fanfiction for any series, not just Graces.

I’m taking a little break to find myself and hopefully get some professional counseling, but I’m hoping I can come back soon. As I’ve mentioned several times, islands in the sea was very heavily inspired by Futures’ The Karma Album. I was driving home from work and listening to the album — specifically to “Islands in the Sea” — when the idea of Hubert and Pascal being stranded on an island together popped into my head and refused to leave.

What those of you who aren’t familiar with the album may not realize is that I drew a lot of inspiration from the music. Each chapter is titled after a song — but also inspired by said song, in some way, shape, or form.

I decided to spend a little time going “behind the scenes” and pointing out which songs inspired which pieces. It would also be nice if as a side effect of this post, more of you listen to Futures!

ON A DIFFERENT NOTE life is crazy right now with me having moved last weekend and a new puppy in the house but I will get those Christmas fics finished soon I promise ugh. I have them all started but writer’s block… craziness… stuff that needs painted… etc etc.

I’ll try to do something special in celebration once Christmas is over and I’m done moving. I’m trying as hard as I can to get everyone’s fics done and I don’t want to let anyone down… please be patient ok? :(
